YOUR FIRST VISIT

The initial visit to a Fertility Specialist Mackay fertility clinic marks a significant milestone on your path to building a family. You may be feeling nervous, excited, overwhelmed – or all three!

We acknowledge that you may be feeling all types of emotions, which is why we’re committed to creating a welcoming and understanding environment. From the moment you step inside our clinic, you’ll be supported.

What To Expect

(While You’re Expecting)

Prior to your visit, we’ll ask you to retrieve a doctor’s referral from a GP (valid for 12 months). This step will not only make you eligible for Medicare rebates but also ensure a smoother process. Your GP will then prepare and send your referral directly to Dr Rana. We will then contact you to arrange referrals for necessary investigations, such as pathology, urine samples, and semen analysis. Completing these investigations beforehand will ensure that the results are available in time for your initial consultation. All registration forms will be sent via a link and can be completed online for your convenience.

Lastly, we’ll coordinate with you to schedule a consultation date and time that works best for you and fits in with your lifestyle.

At Your Consultation

During your first consultation with Dr. Rana, we’ll take the time to discuss the results of all investigations and explore various treatment options. We warmly invite and encourage both partners to attend this initial consultation as your journey towards parenthood is a shared experience.

If you’re a single woman taking the route of parenthood, you may wish to bring along a trusted friend or family member.

Dr. Rana may conduct any of the following to gather valuable information:

Queensland Fertility Group (QFG)

If the consultation suggests that treatment involving Queensland Fertility Group (QFG) is necessary, we will guide you through the process and ensure you have the information you need.

Alternatively, a review consultation may be scheduled, and instructions for medications and timed intercourse may be provided. In some cases, if it is necessary, we may also discuss the possibility of booking surgery.
